Position OverviewThe International Institute of Modern Letters seeks a versatile and visionary new Director. The IIML is the home of Victoria University's prestigious creative writing programme, which has long been at the forefront of New Zealand's literary community, while also maintaining a range of international connections. A strong postgraduate programme (Masters and PhD) is the primary focus of the Institute, but undergraduate workshops are also offered. Our graduates are now among New Zealand’s leading contemporary writers.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong publication record and international standing in the writing community with an MFA or PhD in a relevant area and substantial tertiary teaching experience in creative writing. The ability to provide leadership for the Institute, to work in an interdisciplinary and international context, and to develop productive relationships with industry partners is also important.
