WRITERS AND READERS: RON RASH AND ALAN HOLLINGHURST
From the moody Appalachian mountains to Wellington's Embassy Theatre comes the multi award-winning Ron Rash to discuss his compelling novels and short stories. Rash's writing has earned him comparisons to John Steinbeck and Cormac McCarthy. Burning Bright, his most recent short story collection, won the Frank O'Connor Award - the world's richest prize for the short story form. Also at the Embassy Theatre, Man Booker prize-winner Alan Hollinghurst will discuss The Stranger's Child, his multi-layered, multi-generational epic following the lives of two British families from the Great War to the close of the 20th century.
